Skip Ellsworth did not come to the Philippines to make money. If he wanted to make money, he would simply return to America where he can make a lot of money very quickly.
Instead, Skip came to the Philippines because he is retired now, and he totally loves this wonderful country -- including the people -- the culture -- the freedom -- etc.
In other words, Skip and his wife are not motivated by "profit."
Consequently, the prices at SKIP'S BEACH RESORT are as low as we can make them -- AND THE FOLLOWING THINGS ARE INCLUDED "FREE."
OUR TOTALLY FREE PUBLIC CAMPGROUND:
Our free
camping area is
for back-packers that are traveling on low budgets and can't afford to rent
rooms.
They tell us that we
have the only TOTALLY FREE
PUBLIC CAMPGROUND in all
of Southeast Asia.
Our
campground offers the following:
FREE use of
our permanent shelters with bamboo benches for sitting and sleeping
FREE use of our toilet facilities
FREE use of our places to cook on open fires among the coconut
trees near the beach
FREE use of our ten-speed bikes
FREE use of our boats
FREE use of our wireless internet connection
FREE use of our videoke (i.e. free songs for
everyone)
FREE use of our beach (for swimming and walking)
FREE use of our library (which contains a lot of good books) -- and the list goes on...
Campers usually buy fish from the local fishermen and fruit and vegetables from the local farmers. Therefore, they can eat quite well for between $2. U.S. and $3. U.S. per person per day.
Of course, we encourage our FREE campers to ride with us (for FREE) in our van whenever we are going to the markets – the villages – the City of Bogo – the City of Cebu – etc.
With food as their only expense, our free campers can often afford to stay here for months at a time. WE LOVE IT !!!
OBVIOUSLY, "CAMPING" IS NOT FOR "EVERYONE." IF IT IS NOT FOR "YOU" THEN
WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU RENT A ROOM AT SKIP'S BEACH-RESORT-HOTEL- RESTAURANT.

RESERVATIONS: If you arrive here without reservations -- and if we therefore do not have a room for you -- then Skip will do the following:
1. Skip will
use his own van to take you to one of the another places to stay in the area.
Of course,
there will be no charge for Skip to help you in this way.
2. If Skip can not find another place for you to stay in the area,
then he will bring you back to our
resort and provide a safe
and secure place for you to spend the night -- even if we
must put a
mattress on the floor of our hotel lobby. [Yes... we really are that informal here.]
3. Of course, under the above-mentioned circumstances you would spend the night
here for FREE. In
the morning you would join us for a FREE breakfast before you go on your way...
If you do not have time to stay with us here at SKIP'S BEACH RESORT we hope that you will at least stop by for a free cup of coffee and a visit.
