Therefore, we recommend that you make reservations by phone.

No credit card is necessary to make reservations here, because we trust you when you say that you will ARRIVE at a certain day, and STAY until a certain day.
Therefore we will accept your reservations without requiring payment in advance.
As far as we know, it is almost impossible to find a resort that will a accept reservations without being paid in full (via a credit card) at the time the reservations are made. We do this without payment simply because honor, integrity, and "trust" are very important to us. In other words we trust you, and we know that you will keep your word -- arrive when you say you will arrive -- etc.
UPON ARRIVAL HERE:
When our guests arrive here, we always suggest that they examine the
rooms -- the beds -- the furniture -- the view – the beach – the boats (free
use) – the ten speed bikes (free use) – the wireless internet (free use) etc.,
prior to renting a room. In this way we know our guests will be happy with the
accommodations.
RESORTS ARE DEPENDANT UPON RESERVATIONS:
This is why virtually all resorts require a “non-refundable payment by credit card” at the time that reservations are made.”
Skip’s Beach Resort is the only Resort we know of in this area that accepts reservations without a “pre-payment” being made.
COMING HERE WITH NO RESERVATIONS:
PLEASE NOTE: If you come to our resort without first making reservations -- and if we therefore have no rooms available when you arrive -- we will do the following:
A) We will find a chair for you in our comfortable lounge/lobby and
pour you a
cup of coffee -- for
FREE
B) We will encourage you to
do the following -- for FREE:
Use our gazebos on the beach -- for
FREE
Enjoy a swim at our beautiful beach -- for
FREE
Use our wireless internet connection -- for
FREE
Use our ten speed bicycles -- for FREE
Use our sail-boats -- for FREE
Charge the batteries for your cell phone and your laptop --
for FREE
Sing songs in our videoke (open at 6 PM) -- for
FREE
Relax in our lobby and enjoy the view -- for
FREE
Etc.
C) We will visit with you and answer any questions you might have
about this wonderful area.
D) Skip will use his
van to take you to one of the
other excellent places in the area -- for FREE.
Under the above-mentioned
circumstances, if
we are not able to find another hotel or resort for you to stay in the area,
then Skip will bring you back to SKIP'S BEACH RESORT and at least provide
SOMEPLACE for you to sleep -- for FREE.
For example, if nothing else we can put a mattress on the floor of our lobby [Yes... we really ARE that informal
here.] so you will at least have a
safe place to spend the night -- for FREE.
Of course, under those "emergency" circumstances, we could not accept money for
helping you, and
therefore you would be staying here for FREE
-- with a FREE breakfast (and
FREE coffee) in the morning
before you go on your way.
In other words, if we are
fully-booked when you arrive (e.g. if no rooms are available), we want you to
know that you are welcome to relax here -- hang out -- and enjoy yourself.
Incidentally, if Skip takes you
in his van (for FREE) to another resort, HE WILL
REFUSE TO ACCEPT A SO-
CALLED "COMMISSION" FROM THAT RESORT. The other resort owners do not
even "mention" the subject
to Skip any more, because they already know he will
refuse.
For example, yesterday
(January 11, 2007) a German man and his Filipina wife arrived here without
reservations. Unfortunately, we were completely booked, and we had no room for them.
Therefore, Skip took them in his own van (free of charge, of course) to the Lagkaw Pension
House in Daanbantayan. The pension house has
no beach, and therefore
Skip invited the couple to return to SKIP'S BEACH RESORT today and use all
of our facilities for free
during the day-time hours. This type of thing happens a lot here, and we
love it.
It might
sound weird to you, but Skip is a very friendly guy, and he really ENJOYS
becoming friends with the people that come here.

WHEN "PAYING" GUESTS RENT ROOMS HERE:
THE PAYMENT IS NON-REFUDABLE BECAUSE...:
Our above-mentioned REFUND POLICY is clearly stated on this website – AND it is also clearly stated on signs that are posted in the lobby of our little hotel.
PS – A RECAPITULATION OF OUR REFUND POLICY IS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Our guests pay when they arrive and register.
2. They pay for the total amount of nights they want to stay with us.
3.
After they make a
commitment by registering – paying – and moving into a room – this means that
we can NOT accept reservations for their room.
4.
This means that we
must turn away reservations based upon our guest’s commitment to stay for a
certain number of nights.
5. Therefore, we can not make refunds if our guests check out early.
6.
We can only make
refunds if there is someone actually standing here ready to take over our
guest’s
room when they check out.
7.
Under those
circumstances, we are happy to make refunds because the early departure would
not
cost us money out of our own pocket (via having an empty room
for that period of time).
8.
This is precisely
why most hotels require a “credit card payment” (via the phone) at the time that
reservations are made [e.g. This means that at most hotels
and resorts you have already "paid" for
your room, by credit card, even if you don't show up at all.]
9. It is
our intention to always accept reservations without "pre-payment" -- and to
always trust our
guests when they say they will arrive at a certain time and depart
at a certain time.
Skip's personal philosophy regarding "people" is as follows:
"I love them all,
and there's not one damn thing they can do
about it."

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are
sharp,
some are
pretty,
some are
dull,
some have
weird names,
and all are
different colors....
but they can exist very nicely in the same box.
